Justin Swadling’s Modus
Interesting how the music on this CD has the combined sounds of a traditional jazz trio while having the melodic soul of smooth jazz. It is almost as if this is smooth jazz, unplugged. The second track, ‘Nightlights‘, brings to mind the driving sound of Richard Elliot – smooth, yet hard hitting.
‘Fix‘, the 3rd track on this CD is the slower sad rainy day romance track.
A few tracks later the tone picks up the pace on an appropriately named track, ‘Rush’.
Justin Swadling’s Modus is a full instrumental CD, which maintains a good mood throughout, with ‘Fix’ being the best track, in the best location amongst the 8 tracks.
This has all the right elements of jazz music without being too typical of the many styles of jazz. You’ll like listening to this one.
Great jazz from the UK!
Delicious!
